TRADITIONAL KOREAN MASK MAKING – 전통 탈 만들기

안녕하세요!

오늘은 한국 전통 탈 만들기 문화체험을 진행했어요.

탈은 한국의 전통 공연인 탈춤과 다양한 민속놀이에서 사용되는 전통문화의 하나입니다. 이번 활동에서는 종이 탈에 한지를 붙이고 직접 꾸미며 한국의 전통문화를 더욱 친근하게 경험해 보는 시간을 가졌습니다.

먼저 종이 탈과 한지, 풀, 그리고 다양한 색의 사인펜을 준비했어요. 완성된 모습을 상상하며 모두 설레는 마음으로 활동을 시작했습니다.

가장 먼저 한지를 손으로 잘게 찢어 종이 탈 위에 하나씩 정성스럽게 붙여 보았어요. 작은 조각들을 차곡차곡 붙이다 보니 평범했던 종이 탈이 점점 멋진 전통 탈의 모습을 갖추기 시작했습니다.

한지를 모두 붙인 뒤에는 사인펜을 이용해 탈을 자유롭게 꾸며 보았어요. 다양한 색으로 얼굴을 색칠하고 무늬를 그려 넣으며 자신만의 개성이 담긴 작품을 만들어 갔습니다.

같은 종이 탈로 시작했지만 완성된 작품은 모두 달랐어요. 알록달록한 색감과 다양한 표정, 독창적인 디자인까지 저마다의 개성이 담긴 멋진 탈이 하나둘 완성되었습니다.

작품을 만드는 동안 서로의 탈을 구경하며 아이디어를 나누고, 완성된 모습을 보며 웃음이 끊이지 않았어요. 활동 내내 즐겁고 활기찬 분위기가 이어졌습니다.

직접 만든 탈을 써 보며 기념사진도 찍었어요. 자신만의 작품을 완성했다는 뿌듯함 덕분에 모두 환한 미소를 지었습니다.

오늘의 문화체험은 한국 전통문화를 창의적인 만들기 활동으로 경험하며 즐거운 추억을 만들 수 있었던 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

KOREAN MASK MAKING – Creating a Traditional Korean Mask

Hello everyone!

Today, we enjoyed a traditional Korean mask-making activity.

Traditional Korean masks have long been used in mask dances and various folk performances. During today’s activity, we experienced an important part of Korean culture by decorating our own traditional paper masks.

We began by preparing paper masks, hanji (traditional Korean paper), glue, and colorful markers. Everyone was excited to imagine how their finished masks would look.

First, we tore the hanji into small pieces and carefully attached them to the paper masks one by one. As the layers of paper came together, the plain masks gradually began to resemble beautiful traditional Korean masks.

After covering the masks with hanji, we used colorful markers to decorate them freely. Everyone colored the faces, added creative patterns, and expressed their own unique ideas through their designs.

Although everyone started with the same paper mask, every finished piece looked completely different. Each mask reflected its creator’s imagination through colorful designs, expressive faces, and creative details.

Throughout the activity, everyone admired one another’s work, shared ideas, and enjoyed a fun and lively atmosphere.

After completing the masks, we proudly wore them and took photos together. Everyone was happy to show off their unique creations.

Today’s cultural activity allowed us to experience Korean tradition through creativity and hands-on learning. It was a meaningful and enjoyable way to learn more about Korean culture while making something truly our own.

 

KBS BROADCASTING STATION – KBS 방송국

안녕하세요!

오늘은 방송이 만들어지는 과정을 직접 체험할 수 있는 KBS 방송국 견학을 진행했어요.

KBS는 대한민국을 대표하는 공영방송으로, 뉴스와 드라마, 예능, 애니메이션 등 다양한 프로그램을 제작하고 있습니다. 이번 견학에서는 방송 제작 과정을 살펴보고 직접 방송인이 되어 보는 특별한 체험도 함께 할 수 있었답니다.

방송국에 도착해 견학을 시작하니 실제 방송국의 모습에 모두의 기대감이 한층 커졌어요. 평소 TV에서만 보던 공간을 직접 둘러볼 수 있어 더욱 설레는 시간이었습니다.

먼저 기상캐스터 체험을 해 보았어요. 카메라 앞에 서서 날씨를 직접 소개해 보니 처음에는 조금 긴장했지만, 점점 자연스럽게 화면을 보며 멋지게 진행하는 모습을 볼 수 있었습니다.

이어서 뉴스 진행 체험도 해 보았어요. 뉴스 앵커가 되어 원고를 읽으며 실제 뉴스를 진행하는 것처럼 체험해 보니 모두가 진지한 표정으로 역할에 집중했습니다.

카메라 앞에서 직접 진행해 보니 방송이 얼마나 많은 연습과 노력이 필요한지 자연스럽게 느낄 수 있었어요. 새로운 경험에 모두 즐겁게 참여하는 모습이 인상적이었습니다.

다음으로는 애니메이션 더빙 체험을 진행했어요. 등장인물의 목소리를 직접 연기하며 대사를 녹음해 보니 예상보다 쉽지 않았지만, 다양한 목소리를 표현하며 웃음이 끊이지 않았습니다.

각자의 개성을 살려 더빙을 완성하는 과정은 모두에게 즐거운 추억이 되었어요. 캐릭터의 감정을 표현하며 더욱 몰입하는 모습도 볼 수 있었습니다.

오늘의 견학은 방송을 시청하는 것에서 한 걸음 더 나아가 직접 체험하며 방송 제작 과정을 이해할 수 있었던 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

KBS BROADCASTING STATION – Behind the Scenes of Korean Broadcasting

Hello everyone!

Today, we visited the KBS Broadcasting Station and enjoyed a hands-on broadcasting experience.

KBS is Korea’s national public broadcaster, producing a wide variety of programs including news, dramas, entertainment shows, and animation. During our visit, we had the chance to explore the world of broadcasting through several interactive activities.

We began by exploring the broadcasting station and learning about how television programs are produced. Seeing a real broadcasting studio made everyone even more excited.

Our first activity was the weather presenter experience. Standing in front of the camera and presenting the weather felt a little nerve-racking at first, but everyone quickly became more confident and enjoyed the challenge.

Next, we tried the news anchor experience. Reading the news script in front of the camera gave us a chance to feel what it is like to be a real news presenter, and everyone took the role very seriously.

We also discovered how much preparation and practice are required to create a professional broadcast. It was a fun and meaningful way to learn about the broadcasting industry.

Another highlight of the visit was the animation dubbing experience. We recorded our voices for animated characters, experimenting with different emotions and expressions. Although it was more challenging than expected, it brought lots of laughter and excitement.

Watching everyone express their creativity through voice acting made the experience even more memorable. Each recording reflected a different personality and style.

이번 시간에 배운 안무는 ILLIT의 ‘It’s Me’​예요.

안무를 배우기 전에 스트레칭도 열심히!💪
이번 곡은 템포가 빠른 곡이라 배우기 전에 몸을 푸는 것이 중요했어요.
그럼, 이제 안무를 배워볼까요?

안무 선생님의 동작을 따라 하나씩 천천히 안무를 배웠어요.
어려운 동작보다는 빠르게 바뀌는 동작들에 정신이 없었어요.😵

선생님의 신호에 맞춰 하나 둘, 하나 둘..

이렇게 아일릿(ILLIT)의 It’s Me 안무를 배웠어요!
오랜만에 추는 춤이 어색하기도 했지만, 아주 재미있는 시간이었어요!

Hello! 🤗 Today, we learned a K-POP choreography!
The dance we learned this time was ILLIT’s ‘It’s Me.’

Before diving into the choreography, we stretched hard! 💪 Since this song has a fast tempo, warming up our bodies before learning it was crucial. Now, shall we learn the dance?

We followed the instructor’s movements and learned the choreography step-by-step, taking it slow at first. Rather than the moves being difficult, it was quite chaotic because they changed so quickly! 😵 Matching the instructor’s cues, one-two, one-two… And that’s how we learned the choreography for ILLIT’s ‘It’s Me’!

Even though dancing after a long time felt a bit awkward, we had a really fun time! 😊

뉴스의 앵커와 기상 캐스터가 되어보고 성우도 되어보고, 방송국에서 우리가 보는 방송 화면을 어떻게 만드는지 알아봤어요.

이번엔 실제로 앵커들이 어떻게 뉴스를 진행하는지 직접 체험해봤어요.

Hello! 🤗 Today, We visited the KBS Exhibition Hall, the heart of Korean broadcasting, for a cultural experience! We got to be a news anchor, a weather caster, and a voice actor, and learned exactly how the broadcast screens we see on TV are made.

We took a cool photo strike a pose in front of the blue screen where weather casters usually stand, and snapped another picture in the variety show zone!

Next, We actually experienced how anchors conduct the news. It was quite chaotic because of the fast-scrolling subtitles and the mirror-like screen. 😵

Lastly, we took some fun pictures together at the AI photo booth! Here we are, picking out who got the best shot. 😉

오늘은 서울의 오아시스! 도심 속의 휴식 공간인 서울숲 문화체험 을 진행했습니다.
서울숲은 주변에 중랑천, 응봉산 달맞이공원,한강, 뚝섬유원지 등이 있어 서울 사람들이 많이 찾는 테마공원이에요.

Today, we enjoyed a cultural experience at the National Museum of Korea, one of the best places to explore Korea’s rich history and heritage.

The National Museum of Korea showcases a wide range of historical artifacts from prehistoric times to the present day. It is the perfect place to learn about Korean history, art, and traditional culture all in one visit.

As soon as we entered the museum, the impressive architecture and spacious exhibition halls immediately caught our attention. Everyone was excited to begin exploring the exhibits.

We walked through the galleries and admired a variety of historical artifacts that tell the story of Korea’s long history. Each exhibition offered a fascinating glimpse into life and culture from different periods.

Beautiful ceramics, Buddhist sculptures, and traditional works of art especially captured our attention. Everyone was impressed by the incredible craftsmanship and artistic detail.

As we explored the museum, we shared interesting discoveries and learned many new things about Korean culture and history. Every gallery offered something unique to admire.

We also took time to capture photos in the museum’s beautiful exhibition spaces, creating wonderful memories of the day.

오늘은 서울 도심 속에서 자연을 만끽할 수 있는 서울숲 문화체험을 진행했어요.

서울숲은 울창한 숲과 아름다운 정원, 다양한 생태 공간이 어우러진 서울의 대표적인 공원입니다. 계절마다 색다른 풍경을 감상할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 자연을 가까이에서 느끼며 여유로운 시간을 보내기에 좋은 장소랍니다.

푸른 나무들이 가득한 서울숲을 천천히 걸으며 오늘의 문화체험을 시작했어요. 도심 한가운데라는 것이 믿기지 않을 만큼 싱그러운 풍경 덕분에 기분까지 상쾌해졌습니다.

SEOUL FOREST – A Refreshing Day in Nature

Today, we enjoyed a cultural experience at Seoul Forest, one of Seoul’s most beautiful urban parks.

Seoul Forest is a peaceful green space filled with trees, gardens, and natural attractions. It is the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, and take a break from the busy city.

We began our visit by taking a leisurely walk through the forest. Surrounded by lush trees and fresh air, everyone quickly felt refreshed and relaxed.

As we explored the park, we admired a variety of beautiful plants and flowers. Walking through the peaceful scenery gave us a chance to slow down and enjoy nature.

Next, we visited the Butterfly Garden, where colorful butterflies flew gracefully among the flowers. Watching them up close was both fascinating and relaxing.

Seeing so many different butterflies in one place made the experience even more memorable and allowed us to appreciate the beauty of nature.

We also visited the Insect Museum, where we observed a variety of insects and learned more about the small creatures that are an important part of the natural world.

As we continued walking through Seoul Forest, the green trees and peaceful atmosphere helped us forget the busy city for a while. It was the perfect place to refresh both our minds and our bodies.

SAMULNORI – 사물놀이

안녕하세요!

오늘은 국립국악원에서 사물놀이 문화체험을 진행했어요.

사물놀이는 꽹과리, 징, 장구, 북 네 가지 전통 타악기로 연주하는 한국의 대표적인 전통 공연입니다. 흥겨운 장단과 힘찬 리듬이 어우러져 한국의 신명을 가장 잘 느낄 수 있는 전통문화 중 하나랍니다.

먼저 장구의 이름과 구조를 살펴보고, 장구를 연주하는 기본 자세와 채를 잡는 방법부터 배워 보았어요. 평소 접하기 어려운 한국의 전통 악기를 직접 만져 보는 것만으로도 모두의 얼굴에는 기대감이 가득했습니다.

기본 장단을 하나씩 따라 하며 장구 소리를 익혀 보았어요. 처음에는 오른손과 왼손을 번갈아 치는 것이 조금 헷갈리기도 했지만, 모두 집중하며 리듬을 따라갔습니다.

연습을 계속할수록 장단이 점점 익숙해지기 시작했어요. 처음보다 훨씬 자연스럽게 박자를 맞추며 자신감 있게 연주하는 모습이 무척 인상적이었습니다.

모두 함께 같은 장단을 연주하니 국립국악원 연습실에 힘찬 장구 소리가 울려 퍼졌어요. 리듬에 맞춰 연주하는 동안 웃음도 끊이지 않았고, 신나는 분위기 속에서 사물놀이의 매력을 마음껏 느낄 수 있었습니다.

장단이 점점 맞아가기 시작하자 더욱 즐겁게 연주를 이어 갔어요. 서로 호흡을 맞추며 하나의 리듬을 만들어 가는 시간이 더욱 특별하게 느껴졌습니다.

처음에는 어렵게 느껴졌던 장구 연주였지만, 연습을 거듭할수록 모두 능숙하게 장단을 이어 가는 모습이 정말 멋졌어요. 한국 전통음악의 흥겨움을 직접 몸으로 느낄 수 있는 시간이었습니다.

오늘의 문화체험은 한국의 전통 악기를 직접 연주하며 한국 문화의 신명과 에너지를 경험할 수 있었던 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

SAMULNORI – Korean Traditional Percussion Experience

Hello everyone!

Today, we enjoyed a Samulnori cultural experience at the National Gugak Center.

Samulnori is one of Korea’s most exciting traditional performances, featuring four percussion instruments: the kkwaenggwari (small gong), jing (large gong), janggu (hourglass drum), and buk (barrel drum). Its lively rhythms and energetic sounds beautifully represent the spirit of Korean traditional music.

We began by learning about the janggu, including its structure, how to hold the drumsticks, and the correct playing posture. Everyone was excited to try playing a traditional Korean instrument for the first time.

Next, we practiced the basic rhythms together. At first, keeping the beat and coordinating both hands felt a little confusing, but everyone stayed focused and did their best.

With more practice, the rhythms gradually became familiar. It was wonderful to see everyone’s confidence grow as they played more naturally and comfortably.

As we performed together, the sound of the janggu filled the practice room with lively energy. The exciting rhythms brought smiles to everyone’s faces, making the experience even more enjoyable.

The more we practiced, the better we played together. Creating one rhythm as a group made the activity even more meaningful and fun.

By the end of the session, everyone had improved noticeably. What seemed difficult at first became an exciting and rewarding experience through practice.

Gugak Museum – 국악 박물관

지난 금요일에는 국악박물관에 다녀왔습니다!

국악박물관은 한국의 전통 음악과 그 역사를 한눈에 살펴볼 수 있는 곳인데요. 다양한 전통 악기와 음악 문화에 대해 쉽고 재미있게 알아볼 수 있어 한국 문화를 좋아하는 분들에게 특히 추천하고 싶은 장소입니다.

무엇보다 입장료가 무료라는 점이 정말 매력적이에요! 😊
또한 박물관에서 제공하는 미디어 태블릿을 이용하면 한국어를 몰라도 다양한 언어로 전시를 즐길 수 있어서 외국인도 부담 없이 관람할 수 있습니다.

2층으로 올라가면 한국의 전통 악기와 음악의 역사, 그리고 옛 악보까지 다양한 전시를 만날 수 있습니다.

신기한 악기들을 하나하나 살펴보고, 한국의 전통 악보에도 큰 관심을 보이며 즐겁게 관람했습니다.

하지만 전시를 보는 것만으로는 조금 아쉬울 수도 있겠죠?

국악박물관에는 직접 악기를 체험해 볼 수 있는 공간도 마련되어 있습니다!

실제로 악기를 연주해 보며 소리를 들어볼 수 있어, 한국 전통 음악을 더욱 생생하게 느낄 수 있었습니다.

또 하나 인상 깊었던 점은 박물관 안에서 만날 수 있는 AI 로봇 ‘큐아이’​였습니다.

관람하다 궁금한 점이 생기면 큐아이에게 질문할 수 있는데요. 한국어뿐만 아니라 영어, 중국어, 일본어​도 지원해서 외국인 관람객도 편하게 설명을 들을 수 있습니다.

전시를 보고, 직접 체험도 하고, AI 로봇과 대화까지 해보니 시간 가는 줄 모르고 즐길 수 있었던 하루였습니다.

The museum is a wonderful place to explore the history of Korean traditional music and discover a wide variety of traditional instruments. It is especially worth visiting for anyone interested in Korean culture.

One of the best things about the museum is that admission is free! 😊
The museum also provides multimedia tablets, so visitors can enjoy the exhibitions even if they do not speak Korean.

On the second floor, you can find various exhibitions about traditional Korean instruments, the history of Korean music, and old musical scores. We took our time looking closely at the unique instruments and learning more about traditional Korean notation.

Of course, simply looking at the exhibitions may not always be enough to fully experience the music.

That is why the museum also has a special area where visitors can try playing traditional instruments themselves! Listening to the sounds and experiencing the instruments firsthand made traditional Korean music feel even more vivid and exciting.

Another interesting feature of the museum is its AI robot, Q-I. If you have any questions while exploring the museum, Q-I can help you. It can speak Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese, making it easy for international visitors to receive information and explanations.

We enjoyed the exhibitions, tried the instruments, and even interacted with an AI robot. It was such a fun and memorable experience!

MEET UP – 밋업

안녕하세요?

화창한 주말, 함께 모여서 다양한 주제를 가지고 한국어와 영어, 영어와 한국어로 이야기하는 시간을 가졌습니다!

음식과 음악을 비롯한 운동과 대중문화까지 정말 다양한 주제에 대해서 이야기를 했습니다. 이야기를 통해서 주제와 관련된 어휘 표현을 서로 주고받기도 했습니다. 시작한 지 얼마 안 되었을 때는 수줍어하는 사람들도 있었지만 대화는 이내 활기를 띠었고 옆 팀에서 무슨 말을 하는지 알아들을 수 없을 만큼 교실에 목소리가 꽉 찼습니다.

한국인을 비롯한 여러 나라의 멤버들이 이렇게나 많이 참여할 줄 몰랐습니다! 다양한 국적의 사람들이 모이니까 역시 이야기가 마를 틈이 없었네요. 🙂

대중문화에 대해서 이야기할 때는 폭발적인 반응이었습니다. 음악을 멀리할 사람은 없잖아요. 모두 전통음악뿐만 아니라 한국의 케이팝 가수까지 밋업은 무르익었습니다. 쉬는 시간에도 준비된 한국 전통 간식 약과를 먹으면서 멤버들은 교류를 이어갔습니다. 쉬는 시간이 끝난 후 두 번째 밋업에서도 한 명의 낙오자도 없이 열띤 대화의 흐름이 지속되었습니다.

아쉽지만 밋업을 끝내야 할 때가 왔습니다. 주말 밋업이 재미있는지 여러 번 참여한 멤버, 그 과정에서 서로 알게 되어 새 친구를 사귀는 사람들. 정말 흥미롭지 않나요? 모두는 시간이 넘어서도 이야기 꽃을 피웠습니다. 다음 밋업을 기약하며, 블로그를 마치겠습니다. 다음에 또 만나요.

Hello everyone!

On a beautiful sunny weekend, we gathered together to spend time chatting in both Korean and English on a wide variety of topics.

From food and music to sports and pop culture, our conversations covered all kinds of interesting subjects. As we talked, we also exchanged useful vocabulary and expressions related to each topic. Although some participants were a little shy at first, the atmosphere quickly became lively. Before long, the classroom was filled with so many conversations that it was almost impossible to hear what the groups next to us were saying.

We were pleasantly surprised by how many people joined us, including both Koreans and participants from many different countries. With such a diverse group of people, there was never a shortage of things to talk about. 🙂

The discussion on pop culture, in particular, generated an enthusiastic response. After all, who doesn’t enjoy music? Our conversations ranged from traditional music from different countries to Korean K-pop artists, making the meetup even more engaging and energetic.

During the break, everyone continued getting to know one another while enjoying yakgwa, a traditional Korean sweet that had been prepared for the event. After the break, the second session picked up right where we had left off, and the lively conversations continued with everyone fully engaged.

Before we knew it, it was time to wrap up the meetup. Some participants were joining us for the first time, while others had attended several of our previous meetups. It was wonderful to see people getting to know each other, making new friends, and building connections through these gatherings.

Isn’t that what makes these meetups so special? Even after the official program had ended, many participants stayed behind, chatting happily together long after the scheduled finishing time.
