Lexis Korea is the largest private Korean language school in South Korea, with campuses in Seoul Gangnam, Seoul Hongdae, and Busan. It’s known for its modern facilities, global atmosphere, and warm, welcoming environment. Students from all over the world come to study here, creating a truly diverse and international learning community.
Compared to university-run language programs, Lexis Korea offers a wider range of cultural activities, personalized student support, and a unique opportunity to interact with local Korean students on the same campus.
While university language schools tend to focus on academic Korean geared toward students planning to enter degree programs, Lexis Korea emphasizes practical, real-life Korean that students can use in everyday situations. Another key difference is the classroom nationality mix—university programs often consist largely of Asian students (from countries like China, Mongolia, or Vietnam) pursuing academic pathways, whereas Lexis Korea draws students from across the globe, offering a more balanced and international experience.
If you’re looking for a language school focused on practical Korean, fast progress, and authentic K-culture experiences, Lexis Korea is the ideal choice. At the same time, for those aiming to pursue further studies or employment in Korea, we also offer university pathway programs and intensive TOPIK preparation courses.

Our flexible scheduling lets students start any Monday and choose the course length that fits their needs. A variety of Korean language programs are available, including weekday, weekend, evening, and private Korean classes, plus summer courses for teens, making it easy to find an option that suits any schedule or background. We have three Lexis Korea campuses in South Korea: two located in Seoul and one in Busan. In Seoul, one campus is in Gangnam and the other one is in Hongdae. The Busan campus is located in the booming student area of Seomyeon. Here are the addresses of the three campuses:
- Seoul Gangnam: 11F Anytower, 7, Gangnam-daero 53-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul, Korea 06626

The best Korean language school should offer a high-quality academic program, opportunities to practice the language with local Korean students, and a well-equipped learning environment that helps students stay focused and motivated.
Internationally recognized awards given to top language schools around the world are also a strong indicator of quality. If a school has received such awards, it is a sign you can trust their reputation and educational standards.
The Lexis Korea Gangnam campus is located just steps from Gangnam Station, right in the center of Seoul’s financial district. The school occupies four floors of the ANY Tower, including the newly opened 13th floor, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the vibrant streets below. A rooftop garden provides a peaceful space for students to relax, and the area is surrounded by countless cafés, restaurants, and shops, all easily accessible by Seoul’s efficient metro system.
The Lexis Korea Hongdae campus is located on the 4th floor of the DaeYoung Building, right in front of Exit 4 of Hongdae Station. With a Starbucks in the same building and AK Plaza next door, the area is lively and convenient. Just across the street is Yeontral Park—a scenic spot perfect for relaxing walks and discovering popular cafés and restaurants.
The Lexis Korea Busan campus is on the 6th floor of DS Tower in Seomyeon, a booming student area in the heart of Busan. It’s right across from Jeonpo Cafe Street and easily accessible by public transport, with popular spots like Haeundae and Gwangalli beaches nearby. The campus offers modern, well-equipped classrooms in a dynamic and convenient location.
Seoul, the capital of South Korea, is a vibrant, energetic city full of museums, performance centres, galleries, markets, and shopping. Busan, South Korea’s second-largest city, is known for its beautiful beaches and lively food scene with fresh seafood, offering a more relaxed vibe and a completely different experience from Seoul. Students can choose their preferred campus, but also have the option to experience both different campuses during their time at Lexis.
Lexis Korea offers modern, well-equipped campuses in both Seoul and Busan, providing students with a safe, comfortable, and engaging learning environment. Students from all over the world come to Lexis Korea to study Korean, representing a wide range of nationalities. Overall, most of our students come from European countries, followed by North America, South America, Asia, and Oceania. At Lexis Korea, we are committed to welcoming students from around the globe who share a passion for Korea and its language.
At Lexis Korea, most of our students come from the United States, Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan, and Brazil. However, the nationalities of students at the school can vary from week to week, as new students from different countries enroll continuously. We welcome students from all over the world, regardless of background or nationality.
We aim to keep our class sizes small, as we believe it creates a more engaging and supportive learning environment for both students and instructors. On average, classes have around 10 students, with a maximum of 16. We always do our best to maintain smaller groups, though some classes may be slightly larger during busy seasons. Class size can also vary depending on the level and total number of students enrolled.
Lexis Korea offers Standard and Intensive Korean Courses that run Monday to Friday and restart weekly, allowing students to begin on any Monday and choose their desired study period, starting from one week. Weekend and Evening Courses follow a fixed four-week cycle, so a minimum of four weeks is required. Intake dates for all courses can be found on the Lexis Korea course pages. For 1:1 private lessons, students may register starting from just one hour.
Lexis Korea currently does not offer separate afternoon-only group classes, apart from the afternoon sessions that are part of the Intensive Korean Course. For students who prefer to study in the afternoon, 1:1 Private Korean Lessons are a great alternative. These lessons offer flexible scheduling and can be tailored to fit each student’s availability and learning goals.
Our certified teachers are trained to teach Korean without using students’ native languages, even at the most entry-level class. Lessons are delivered in Korean with clear and slow explanations to support understanding. This immersive approach helps students grasp the language effectively, and many find it especially useful for building strong Korean skills from the start.
Yes, Lexis Korea welcomes complete beginners with no prior knowledge of the Korean language. Our Foundation level is designed specifically for students who are learning Korean for the first time. At this level, students start by learning Hangul (the Korean alphabet), basic vocabulary, grammar, and expressions. Many students begin at this level, so you won’t be alone.
There are seven levels in total, from Foundation (Level 1) to Advanced (Level 7). Students are placed in the appropriate level based on their placement test results. In both the Intensive and Standard courses, Foundation takes one week, Beginner takes four weeks, Elementary takes eight weeks, and the higher levels, such as Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, and Advanced, each take 12 weeks to complete. Progress may vary depending on each student’s pace and attendance.
Students may advance to the next level upon completing the designated number of weeks for their current level. Alternatively, a level test can be arranged and assessed by their instructor. Advancement is determined by overall performance and teacher approval to ensure accurate placement.
Each week, students cover a new topic aligned with their level. Vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structures introduced during the week are based on that theme, to apply what they’ve learned in practical, real-life situations. For example, topics may include numbers, hobbies, appearance, and personality.
Yes, all students enrolled at Lexis Korea receive a digital certificate upon course completion. The certificate includes the student’s name, course dates, number of enrolled weeks, and final level completed. It is sent to your registered email within one to two weeks after the course ends.
Our student community features a dynamic mix of individuals, mostly in their 20s and 30s, and a handful of inspiring learners over 40. This blend of ages enriches our learning environment and fosters unique perspectives!
There is no age limit when it comes to learning something new, especially a new language. While most students are in their 20s to 30s, many in their 40s, 50s, and older also take part in the courses. The class environments are friendly and welcoming to students of all ages.
Yes, but minor students are recommended to study at the Gangnam campus, as it is currently the campus where the Junior Program is offered. This program provides a more structured and supportive environment tailored to the needs of younger learners. If they are not traveling with a family member or a legal guardian, it is recommended that minors stay in a homestay accommodation for proper supervision.
The Standard Course runs Monday to Friday, with three hours of morning classes focused on grammar, vocabulary, and is academically based. The Intensive Course includes the same morning classes plus an additional two-hour of skill-focused afternoon sessions, and the course material will vary by level. Lower level classes focus on pronunciation, vocabulary, and may review the morning class materials, while higher level classes engage in more structured conversation practice and writing activities to apply what they have learned, with content tailored to their proficiency. If you want to improve your Korean quickly, the Intensive Korean course is recommended, as it offers more exposure to the language. On the other hand, if you need to balance your studies with other morning and afternoon schedules, the Standard Korean course is also a good option.
All Lexis Korean campuses offer the same high-quality courses, teaching methods, and cultural programs, so the learning experience is consistent across locations. At the same time, each campus has a distinct atmosphere influenced by its surrounding area. Gangnam is the main campus, located in Seoul’s business and education hub. Hongdae has a young, creative vibe, popular with those drawn to art, music, and street culture. Busan offers a relaxed, coastal environment, ideal for those who prefer a slower pace.
It is certainly possible to extend your course, and many students choose to do the same. To proceed, students must complete the same enrollment form used during their initial registration and select “Extend My Stay” at the top of the form. If accommodation extension is also needed, students can indicate the new dates on the same form. Please note that accommodation availability may vary depending on the season.
Korean courses at Lexis Korea start every Monday, allowing students to begin their studies at any time throughout the year. This weekly intake system provides flexibility for those with various academic or travel schedules. There is no need to wait for a new term, making it easier to plan short- or long-term stays. The regular Monday start dates ensure consistent integration into existing courses. Please note that Evening and Weekend courses operate on a 4-week cycle, typically starting on the first Monday of each month for Evening courses and the first Saturday of each month for Weekend courses. You can check the exact intake dates on Lexis Korea official website
Although there is no strict deadline, it is recommended that students complete their registration at least 1 to 2 weeks before their intended start date. Early registration allows time for class placement, accommodation arrangements, and administrative preparation. Last-minute applications may still be accepted depending on availability, but planning ahead ensures a smoother start.
Registration for courses starting the following week is usually possible. However, during busy seasons such as summer or winter, housing options such as Student Residence may fill up quickly. Early application increases the likelihood of securing preferred options.
All students, except complete beginners, are required to take a placement test before starting courses. The test is designed to evaluate current language skills and determine the most appropriate class level. Accurate placement enhances the overall learning experience by ensuring that students are placed in a class that suits their ability.
The placement test is conducted online and can be completed at your convenience before arrival. You can access the test through this link: https://lexiskorea.com/pre-test-info. The test typically covers grammar, vocabulary, and a short writing section. On the first day of course, students will also take a brief speaking test. Once both tests have been reviewed, your final class placement will be confirmed and shared immediately, ensuring you join a class suited to your current level.
The level test result can be confirmed by contacting Lexis Korea via email enrol@lexiskorea.com after taking the test. However, the final level will be determined on the first day of school after completing the in-person speaking test. This allows for a more accurate assessment of the student’s overall Korean proficiency.
Students with no prior experience in Korean are not required to take the placement test. Complete beginners are placed directly into the Foundation level, which covers the Korean alphabet, basic greetings, and fundamental grammar. This provides a gentle and structured introduction to the language.
Students can register by submitting an application form through the official Lexis Korea website (lexiskorea.com/apply-now). Once submitted, applicants receive step-by-step guidance from our staff regarding the next stages, students will receive the offer letter, invoice, payment guide, placement test information, accommodation confirmation, and pre-arrival useful information. The registration process is straightforward and designed to be user-friendly.
Registration for Lexis Korea’s Korean language courses is quick and simple. You can usually complete the application form and submit required documents online within 10–15 minutes. Once your application is submitted, our team will contact you within one business day to confirm your enrollment and provide further instructions. If you have all necessary documents ready, the whole process from application to confirmation can be completed more efficiently.
For short-term programs, only an application form and a copy of the applicant’s passport are typically required. Students applying for long-term courses like Student Visa Program, students may need to provide additional documents such as financial statements, ID photos, or academic transcripts. Requirements vary depending on the course type and visa category.
Students from visa-waiver countries or those planning to enter Korea on a tourist visa can register for short-term Korean courses. Usually, it is 90 days or less. For the long-term course such as KLCP(Korean Language & Culture Program), a student visa will be necessary. It is advised to check the most up-to-date visa regulations with the Korean embassy or consulate in the applicant’s home country.
Yes, an official Confirmation of Enrollment can be issued upon request after your tuition payment has been completed.
To request this document, please contact Lexis Korea at enrol@lexiskorea.com.
The confirmation will include important details such as your course name and course duration.
Certificates are typically issued on the last day of your course. In some cases, they may be issued on the following Monday. You will receive the certificate by email. The certificate includes your name, the course title, and the course duration.
Just like adult students, minor students need to prepare their passport’s personal information page and a parental consent form. The consent form will be provided along with the invoice and the offer letter at the time of registration.
Yes, you can postpone your course start date if needed.
If your tuition has not been paid yet, you may change your start date freely. The same tuition rate will apply as long as the new start date is within one year from your originally requested start date.
If your tuition has already been paid, the payment remains valid for up to one year from the original course start date. In either case, please inform Lexis Korea at least two weeks in advance to ensure availability, especially for accommodation and airport transfer arrangements.
The payment deadline is clearly stated on your invoice. You are required to complete the payment by the date indicated to confirm your enrollment. Meeting the deadline allows us to process further steps for your studies, such as confirming your course level, preparing your class materials, and securing any additional services you have booked. Delayed payment may result in processing delays or the loss of your reserved spot.
If you miss the payment deadline, your enrollment will not be confirmed, and we cannot guarantee your place in the course. You will also receive payment reminder emails from us. The longer the delay, the more likely it is that essential arrangements, such as your course placement, accommodation booking, or airport pick-up, will also be delayed. Please note that if payment is made too close to your course start date or service start date (e.g., check-in date), we may face difficulties in securing accommodation or arranging airport pickup on time. To avoid any delays or inconvenience, we strongly recommend completing payment within the stated deadline.
In general, payment deadlines must be met to secure your course and services. If you have unavoidable reasons, you may request a short extension by contacting us in advance. We will review your case individually, but please note that extensions are not always possible, especially when booking high-demand accommodation types or airport pickup services.
Partial payments are generally not accepted. If you have a valid reason and need to split the payment, please contact us in advance with details. We will review your request case by case, but in principle, full payment is required by the due date to confirm your course and services.
We do not charge a specific late fee. However, late payment can cause inconvenience, such as delayed course confirmation, or losing your reserved accommodation or services. To ensure a smooth enrollment process, we highly recommend making payment by the due date.
If you would like to start your course next Monday, we recommend completing your payment as soon as possible, ideally at least 2 business days in advance. This allows enough time for us to confirm your enrollment, arrange your level test, and prepare course materials. For services like accommodation or airport pick-up, even earlier payment may be required to secure availability. Late payment may result in delayed processing or limited availability of services.
You can check the payment due date on your invoice. The due date is shown under the ‘Invoice Details’ section. In this section, you can also find your student number and enrolled compass. This information is important during your study in Lexis Korea, so we recommend keeping it noted for future reference. Also, please review your invoice carefully before making the payment.
All invoices are issued in Korean Won (KRW), and payment must be made in KRW. Sending payment in other currencies may cause delays or shortfalls due to exchange rate fluctuations. Please make sure to transfer the exact amount in KRW as stated on your invoice.
If your bank does not support the transfer in KRW, you will have two options. First, you can use Wise to send the exact KRW amount. This platform ensures the exact amount we receive and supports various payment methods beyond bank transfers. Second, if Wise is not available in your country or for your currency, you may send the equivalent amount in your local currency. However, please note that exchange rate fluctuations may cause the amount we receive to be less than the invoiced amount. We cannot specify or guarantee exchange rates on the invoice, so any shortfall will need to be settled separately.
We do not accept cash or on-site payments. This policy ensures that all necessary preparations are completed before the course starts, allowing us to provide smoother and more efficient services to our students.
Unfortunately, we do not accept credit card payments. We kindly ask for your understanding that only bank transfers, including Wise, are accepted. If credit card payment is your only option, please contact us with detailed information about your situation. We will review and see if there is any possible solution.
If you have never used Wise before, please refer to our payment guidelines. The guideline provides detailed instructions on how to pay your tuition using Wise. It also includes answers to frequently asked questions from our students, helping you find all the necessary information for making payments through Wise.
Yes, you can use any platform that is convenient for you, other than Wise. Also, your local bank is available. Wise is just one of our recommendations to help you with the payment, as it guarantees faster transfer. However, please ensure that the exact invoice amount is received in KRW, and note that any transfer fees or exchange rate differences should be covered on your side.
When using Wise, please make sure to enter the exact recipient details provided on your invoice, including account number and bank name. Please note that you are provided the information you need for your transfer, and you can find that information at the bottom of it. For your convenience, please follow these instructions carefully:
- On Wise, select ‘Add recipient’ → ‘Enter bank details’.
- Choose ‘Business or charity’ for the recipient type.
- Input Lexis Korea’s bank information in the account details section.
- If Wise asks for an email address, you can use enrol@lexiskorea.com.
You should use your enrolled campus name for Wise payment. For example, if you are about to pay for your Gangnam campus’s course, you may use ‘Lexis Korea’ or ‘Lexis Korea Gangnam Campus’. If you are paying for your service fee, you may put ‘Lexis Support Center’.
There are no complicated payment instructions, but we kindly ask you to leave a clear reference or memo when making the payment. As we receive payments from many students, including your full name and invoice number in the reference section helps us identify your payment quickly and avoid any delays in processing. Payments without proper reference may take longer to confirm. Once the payment has been made, please either take a screenshot of the payment confirmation screen (from Wise or your bank) or obtain a bank transfer receipt and send it to us at enrol@lexiskorea.com.
We recommend you send us the transfer receipt or proof of payment to enrol@lexiskorea.com as soon as possible after completing the payment. This allows us to confirm your payment and enrollment faster and smoothly. Especially for international transfers, it may take several business days for the payment to be deposited, so providing it will avoid unnecessary follow-ups.
Yes, we can resend the bank account details. However, please note that all payment information is included in the invoice you received. Also, bank account details may vary depending on the campus you chose and whether you booked accommodation or airport pickup services. To avoid any confusion or errors, please check your invoice carefully before making the payment.
Yes! A City Tour is usually held on Mondays for new students. For example, in Seoul, the “Gangnam City Tour” introduces students to the area around the campus.
Yes! At Lexis Korea, there are multiple ways for international students to meet and interact with Korean students and locals. Whether you’re looking for structured social events or more casual, everyday encounters, there are many great opportunities to connect. Beyond these scheduled events, Lexis Korea offers many chances for everyday interaction with Korean students. During class breaks, lunchtime, or while spending time in shared areas like the student lounge, rooftop garden, or cafeteria.
Yes, Lexis runs regular Meet‑ups, usually once a month. An excellent opportunity is to meet new friends and Lexis’ Korean students, a casual language exchange session held on campus, usually on the second or third Wednesday of each month from 16:00 to 18:00. This free event is designed to help students practice language skills and make friends in a relaxed environment. You can speak in English or Korean, and meet Korean students.
Student Night is a fun dinner event held once a month, usually on the last Friday.

Participants can enjoy delicious Korean food and drinks while chatting, playing games, and making new friends. All current and former Lexis students, including those from Korean and IELTS programs, are welcome to join. However Minors (under 19) are not allowed to attend due to alcohol being served.
Meet‑ups are casual and often language-focused (games, cultural talks, etc.). Student Night is a party-like dinner event with drinks and food.
Not at all! All events at Lexis Korea are designed to be inclusive and beginner-friendly. You do not need to be fluent in Korean to participate. Most Korean students who attend events like Student Night or Meet-Up are comfortable speaking some English, and they are happy to speak to you in Korean slowly if needed. Many international students use these events as a way to practice simple Korean phrases in real conversations.
Yes, Lexis Korea offers a variety of weekday cultural experience programs to help international students learn more about Korean culture in a fun, hands-on way. These activities are held either on campus or at nearby local venues.

Lexis is a private language school, it cannot support D-4 student visa applications—unlike university-affiliated institutions. Instead, most students travel to Korea using K‑ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization), which allows short-term visa-free entry. South Korea has visa waiver agreements with many countries, allowing their citizens to enter without a visa for tourism or short-term visits (up to 90 days).
Please check your nationality-specific stay limit under K‑ETA, as permitted durations (typically up to 90 days) vary by country. Or If your nationality is eligible for Korean Working holiday visa, this visa permits a longer period (usually 1 year) to stay in Korea than K-ETA.
K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) is an online travel permit required for visa-free travelers visiting South Korea for the purpose of tourism, business meetings, visiting family and friends or short-term events. It must be approved before boarding the flight or ship to Korea.
For applying K-ETA
Please visit the official website and fill out the application form
https://www.k-eta.go.kr Or download the K-ETA mobile app (iOS / Android).
- Personal info (passport details, contact info)
- Travel info (dates, purpose, accommodation)
- Upload a recent passport-style photo
Please note that the fee KRW10000 (USD $7-$10 in 2025) is non-refundable. Processing takes up to 72 hours, make sure to apply at least 3 days beforehand.

Accommodation is part of our student service and can only be booked in conjunction with a Lexis Korea course. It is not possible to book accommodation or airport pickup services separately without enrolling in a course.
Accommodation can only be booked in connection with your course dates. We allow students to book their accommodation to begin up to 3 days before and end up to 3 days after their course, depending on flight schedules. However, it is not possible to extend the accommodation period beyond the course end date unless the course is also extended.
You can request accommodation through the online registration form. Please indicate your preferred accommodation type, meal option, and any special requests when registering.
Accommodation is confirmed 1–2 weeks prior to your check-in date, once full payment has been received. A confirmation letter will be sent via email.
If requested in advance, we will do our best to accommodate you and your friend together. However, this is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Changes to your accommodation after confirmation are limited.
If a change is approved, the new check-out date will be set for two weeks after the request. If you choose to check out earlier, you will still be charged for two weeks from the request date.
Cancellations are subject to our cancellation policy.
If you want to start your journey with ease and comfort you can apply for our airport pickup & drop-off services. Besides this, we send all students an Arrival Guide before their departure to help them prepare for their stay in Korea. This guide includes important information, such as how to get from the airport to Seoul and what to expect upon arrival.
You can request airport pickup when filling out the online registration form. Your flight details must be submitted at least 7 days before arrival via the Arrival Information Request Form.
If you have arranged the airport/station pickup service through Lexis Korea, a designated Lexis driver will meet you at the arrival hall exit and take you directly to your accommodation. The driver will be holding a sign with your name on it.
If you are arriving at Incheon airport and are not able to find our driver at the arrival gate, please go to the waiting area near exit 10 for Terminal 1 or exit 6 for Terminal 2.
Other airport users, please contact the driver at the arrival gate.
All airports provide free Wi-Fi, so you can contact the driver via WhatsApp or KakaoTalk. You may also ask nearby airport staff for assistance.
If your flight is delayed or missed, please notify both the pickup driver and the emergency contact immediately. Be sure to update us with your new flight schedule so we can rearrange your pickup accordingly.
Yes. Friends or family members who are also registered students at Lexis Korea may share a pickup. Please inform us in advance. The second student pays only 50% of the standard pickup fee.
If you choose not to book the pickup service, you will need to travel to your accommodation on your own. The address and directions will be provided in your Accommodation Confirmation Letter.
Before you arrive, you will receive a Pre-Arrival Guide that includes useful information about SIM card activation, hospitals, and other local services. If you need assistance outside of Help Desk hours, feel free to visit the Front Desk, our staff will be happy to help!
