자개공예는 한국의 전통 공예의 하나로 조개껍데기를 활용해 예쁜 스티커를 만들어 물품에 장식하는 것이에요.
오늘 우리가 한 것은 자개공예를 누구나 쉽게 할 수 있는 키트로 한 거예요. 작은 자개 조각을 한국적인 모양의 키링용 판에 예쁘게 장식해서 고리를 다는 거예요.
키트는 위 사진과 같이 몇 가지 종류가 있어요. 한국 조선 시대 왕들이 입던 곤룡포 형태의 디자인, 청자 형태의 디자인, 백자 형태의 디자인이 있어요. 그리고 어떻게 만드는지 설명서가 그림과 함께 첨부돼 있어요.
도구를 활용해 섬세하게 자개 조각을 다뤄서 예쁘게 붙여요.
완성된 키링은 위 사진과 같아요. 이렇게 만든 키링을 옷이나 가방에 달면 참 예쁘겠죠?

On March 20, 2026, the students made mother-of-pearl craft keyrings together.
Mother-of-pearl craft, a distinguished constituent of Korea’s traditional artisanal heritage, entails the utilization of iridescent shell fragments to produce ornamental adhesive motifs, which are subsequently affixed to various objects for decorative purposes.
The activity undertaken on this occasion employed a specially designed kit that renders the practice of this traditional craft readily accessible to participants of all skill levels. The process involves the meticulous arrangement of diminutive mother-of-pearl fragments upon a keyring base fashioned in emblematic Korean forms, followed by the attachment of a metal ring fixture.
As illustrated in the accompanying images, the kits are available in several distinct variations, including designs inspired by the Gonryongpo—the ceremonial robe worn by monarchs of the Joseon Dynasty—as well as motifs resembling celadon and white porcelain.
