안녕하세요! 이번 문화 체험 시간에는 아름다운 창덕궁을 방문했습니다. 창덕궁은 경복궁과 가까운 곳에 위치한 조선의 대표적인 궁궐 중 하나로, 자연과 건축이 조화를 이루는 아름다운 궁궐입니다. 또한 그 역사적·문화적 가치를 인정받아 1997년 유네스코 세계문화유산으로 등재되었습니다.
먼저 창덕궁의 정전인 인정전을 둘러보았습니다. 인정전은 왕의 즉위식이나 외국 사신 접견 등 중요한 국가 행사가 열리던 곳입니다.
이어서 선정전을 구경했습니다. 선정전은 왕이 신하들과 국정을 논의하고 업무를 보던 공간으로, 오늘날의 사무실과 같은 역할을 했습니다.
이후 희정당, 대조전, 낙선재까지 둘러보며 창덕궁의 다양한 건물과 역사를 살펴보았습니다. 각 건물마다 담긴 이야기를 배우며 조선 시대의 생활과 문화를 더욱 가까이 느낄 수 있었습니다.
화창한 봄날, 아름다운 창덕궁을 함께 걸으며 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다. 이번 문화체험은 한국의 역사와 전통문화를 이해하고 잊지 못할 추억을 만드는 소중한 시간이 되었습니다.
Hello! During our cultural experience program, we visited the beautiful Changdeokgung Palace.
Located near Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung is one of the most representative royal palaces of the Joseon Dynasty. It is especially well known for its harmonious blend of architecture and nature, and its historical and cultural value was recognized when it was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
We first visited InjeongjeonHall, the main throne hall of the palace. It was the place where important national events, such as royal coronations and receptions for foreign envoys, were held.
Next, we explored Seonjeongjeon Hall. This was the king’s office, where he discussed state affairs with his officials and carried out his daily duties.
After that, we continued our tour through Huijeongdang Hall, Daejojeon Hall, and Nakseonjae Hall, learning about the history and unique features of each building. Through this experience, we were able to gain a deeper understanding of life and culture during the Joseon Dynasty.
On a bright and sunny spring day, we enjoyed walking through the beautiful palace grounds together. It was a memorable experience that helped us appreciate Korean history and traditional culture while creating lasting memories.

For this activity, we visited the National Maritime Museum located in Busan.
Even before entering, we were amazed by the grandeur of the huge building.
Inside, there were many exhibition halls. We were able to learn about various historical backgrounds related to the sea, including Korean maritime history and the history of ships.
Of course, we also enjoyed seeing many kinds of fish! It was exciting to observe a variety of marine life.
We hope this visit became a meaningful and valuable experience for the students.
안녕하세요. 한국에는 여러 궁들이 있는데요, 오늘은 그 중에서 유네스코에 등재되어 있고 조선의 왕들이 실제로 많이 거주하기도 했고 실제 조선시대 정사에서 경복궁보다 더 큰 비중을 차지했던 창덕궁에 다녀왔어요. 창덕궁은 외국인에게 유명한 인사동과 가까운 종로에 위치하고 있어서 전철로 쉽게 갈 수 있어요. 먼저 도착한 입구에서 다 같이 기념으로 사진 한 장을 찍었답니다.
날씨가 맑고 좋아서 궁을 구경하기에도 좋았어요. 먼저 창덕궁의 안내 지도를 같이 살펴볼까요?
가장 먼저, 들어서면 나오는 문을 지나 인정전에 갔어요. 인정전은 왕위 즉위식이나 나라의 중요한 행사가 열렸던 곳으로, 이 곳에서 신하들이 임금에게 새해 인사를 드리거나 외국 사신을 맞이했던 곳이에요.
인정전을 지나 왕과 신하들이 회의를 하는 공식적인 사무공간이었던 선정전을 둘러봤어요.
사극 드라마에서 자주 보던 곳이라 좀 친숙한가요?
그 다음으로 희정당이라는 조금은 독특한 곳을 둘러보았는데요, 이 곳에는 조선시대의 전통 인테리어와 유럽풍의 가구들이 조화를 이루고 있는 전통과 현대가 어우러져 있는 곳이에요. 희정당은 본래 침전으로 사용하다가 조선 후기부터 임금님의 집무실로 사용하였는데요, 조선 후기와 대한제국시대에 왕의 사무실과 외국 사신 등을 접대하는 곳으로 사용하면서 한식과 서양식이 어우러진 건물로, 시대의 변천사를 엿볼 수 있는 건축이라 할 수 있어요.
마지막으로 간 곳은 낙선재예요. 낙선재는 왕들과 가족이 잠을 자던 침실로 사용하던 곳이에요. 낙선재는 헌종의 서재 겸 휴식 공간으로 1847년 지어졌고, 그 안의 석복헌과 수강재는 각각 후궁 경빈 김씨와 대왕대비 순원왕후(순조비)의 처소로 조성되었어요. 단아하면서 기품 있는 건축미를 지닌 낙선재는 헌종과 경빈 김씨의 사랑이 깃든 장소로 유명하며, 덕혜옹주 등 대한제국의 마지막 황실 가족들이 1989년까지 머물렀던 역사적 공간이기도 해요.
사실 창덕궁은 규모가 크고 멋진 화원이 유명하지만, 시간 관계 상 다 가 보지 못하고 주요한 곳들만 방문 하였답니다.

Hello! Korea is home to many beautiful palaces. Today, we visited Changdeokgung Palace, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was actually the primary residence for many Joseon kings and played a much larger role in the actual governance of the Joseon Dynasty than Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Located in Jongno—right near Insadong, a very famous spot for foreigners—we could easily get there by subway. Upon arriving at the entrance, we all took a commemorative group photo together. The weather was clear and beautiful, making it a perfect day for us to explore the palace.
Shall we take a look at the Changdeokgung guidance map first?
As soon as we passed through the main entrance, we headed straight to Injeongjeon. This was the venue for royal coronations and major state affairs. It was here that officials offered New Year’s greetings to the king and foreign envoys were officially received.
Passing Injeongjeon, we explored Seonjeongjeon, the official office space where the king and his officials held meetings. Doesn’t it feel a bit familiar? We have probably seen it quite often in historical Korean dramas!
Next, we looked around a rather unique place called Huijeongdang. This is a space where tradition and modernity blend beautifully, showcasing a harmony between Joseon Dynasty interior design and European-style furniture.
Originally used as the king’s bedchamber, it served as the king’s office from the late Joseon period. During the late Joseon and Korean Empire eras, it was used as the king’s study and a place to receive foreign envoys. Rebuilt with a mix of Korean and Western styles, it is a magnificent piece of architecture that reflects the changing times.
The final stop on our tour was Nakseonjae. While some parts of the complex served as living quarters, Nakseonjae itself was built in 1847 as King Heonjong’s library and rest area. Within the complex, Seokbokheon and Sugangjae were built as residences for his royal concubine, Consort Gyeongbin Kim, and the Grand Queen Dowager Sunwon (Queen Consort of King Sunjo), respectively.
Boasting a simple yet elegant architectural beauty, Nakseonjae is famous for being infused with the love story of King Heonjong and Consort Gyeongbin. It is also a deeply historical space where the last remaining members of the Korean Imperial Family, including Princess Deokhye, lived until 1989.
To be honest, Changdeokgung is widely famous for its massive and stunning Secret Garden (Huwon), but due to time constraints, we couldn’t see everything and only visited the main highlights.

뮤지엄 김치간은 인사동에 위치해 있어서 찾기 쉬운데요. 김치의 역사와 종류, 그리고 한국의 김장 문화를 한눈에 배울 수 있는 곳이랍니다. 단순히 눈으로만 보는 게 아니라, 직접 김치를 만들고 맛볼 수 있는 특별한 공간이에요.
저희는 도착하자마자 신나게 김치 만들기 체험부터 시작했어요! 김장의 모든 과정을 다 하려면 손이 많이 가지만, 여기서는 김치의 핵심인 양념을 만들고 배추를 버무리는 과정을 쏙쏙 골라 체험해 볼 수 있었어요. 양념 만드는 법은 뮤지엄 김치간의 전문 선생님께서 친절하게 알려주셨답니다.
정성껏 만든 김치는 예쁜 통에 담아 만든 날짜와 이름을 콕 적었어요. 내가 직접 만든 김치를 집에 가져갈 수 있다니, 정말 뜻밖의 선물 같지 않나요?
김치 만들기가 끝난 후에는 도슨트 선생님을 따라 박물관 구석구석을 둘러보았어요. 4층에서는 김치의 탄생과 진화, 그리고 신비로운 ‘발효’의 과학에 대해 배울 수 있었는데요. 특히 옛 부엌의 모습을 재현해 놓은 곳에서 부뚜막에 직접 불을 지펴보는 아기자기한 경험도 해보았답니다.
이어서 5층으로 올라가 우리나라 지역별로 다채로운 김치들을 구경했어요.
마지막으로 다시 6층으로 돌아가 유네스코 인류무형문화유산에 등재된 ‘김장 문화’에 대해 깊이 알아보는 시간을 가졌습니다. 김장은 단순히 음식을 만드는 활동을 넘어, 가족과 친척, 이웃이 함께 모여 정을 나누고, 형편이 어려운 이웃에게 따뜻함을 전하는 아름다운 문화라는 걸 다시 한번 마음 깊이 배우게 되었답니다.

Hello everyone! Today, I took my friends on a super fun trip to ‘Museum Kimchikan’ in Insadong!
Located right in the heart of Insadong, Museum Kimchikan is incredibly easy to find. It’s the perfect place to learn all about the history, different varieties, and the beautiful culture of Kimchi (called Kimjang) all in one spot. But it’s not just a place where you just look around—it’s a hands-on cultural space where you can actually make and taste Kimchi yourself!
As soon as we arrived, we jumped straight into the Kimchi-making experience! Making Kimchi from scratch can be a lot of work, but here, they made it so simple and fun. We got to focus on the best parts: mixing the key seasoning ingredients and generously coating the cabbage leaves. The instructor at the museum was so sweet and guided us every step of the way.
Once our delicious Kimchi was ready, we packed it into cute little containers and labeled them with our names and today’s date. The best part? We got to take our handmade Kimchi home! Isn’t that the most wonderful unexpected gift?
After the cooking session, we followed a docent guide to explore every nook and cranny of the museum. On the 4th floor, we learned about the origin and evolution of Kimchi, as well as the fascinating science behind fermentation. We even got to visit a replica of a traditional Korean kitchen and had a blast pretending to light up the old-fashioned hearth (Buttumak)!
Next, we headed up to the 5th floor to check out a colorful display of regional Kimchi varieties from all over Korea.
To wrap up our tour, we went up to the 6th floor to dive deeper into the spirit of ‘Kimjang,’ which is officially recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. We learned that Kimjang is so much more than just making food; it’s a beautiful tradition where family, relatives, and neighbors come together to share love, community, and extend a helping hand to those in need.

자갈치시장은 한국에서 가장 큰 수산시장으로 유명하며, 매년 수많은 외국인 관광객이 방문하는 명소입니다. 자갈치시장은 그 자체 말고도 인근의 충무동 해안시장, 국제시장, 깡통시장 등의 다른 시장들과 연계되는 거대한 상권을 이루고 있어서 들르는 김에 다른 시장들도 함께 둘러볼 수 있는 곳입니다.
여기는 자갈치시장 거리와 바로 붙어 있는 충무동 해안시장의 입구예요. 입구임을 알려주는 표지판이 없으면 자갈치시장의 일부라고 생각이 들 정도로 연담화되어 있습니다.
각종 수산물이 즐비하게 전시되어 있어요. 각종 생선, 대게, 킹크랩, 가오리, 꼼장어, 개불 등 다양합니다. 특히 꼼장어는 부산 사람들이 즐겨 먹는 생선이에요. 조금 비싸지만 여러분도 부산을 여행한다면 한번 먹어 보세요.
이렇게 실내에도 각종 횟집과 식당이 성업 중이에요.
한편, 이렇게 바다를 바라볼 수 있는 휴식 공간도 있어요. 멀리 영도가 보이고 갈매기들이 자유로이 날아다니는 게 아주 예쁘죠? 상쾌한 바닷바람을 맡으며 인어공주가 된 기분을 느껴 보세요.
자갈치시장을 둘러본 뒤, 우리는 마지막으로 인근의 BIFF 광장에 갔어요. BIFF는 부산국제영화제를 뜻하는 ‘Busan International Film Festival’의 약자로, 지금은 센텀시티에서 매년 개최되는 부산국제영화제가 원래 이 인근에서 개최되었습니다. 그때의 흔적으로 지금도 BIFF라는 이름을 쓰고 있지요.
처음 오는 사람들은 헷갈릴 수 있으니 특히 BIFF가 열리는 9월에 온다면 조심하세요!
이곳의 명물은 씨앗호떡이에요. 호떡인데 그 안에 먹을 수 있는 각종 씨앗이 있죠. 하지만 포장마차에서 팔기에 카드 결제가 되지 않는 단점이 있습니다. 그러니 씨앗호떡을 먹으려면 반드시 한국 현금을 준비하세요. 한 개에 2,000원 정도예요.
이렇게 BIFF 광장까지 둘러본 뒤에 렉시스 코리아로 돌아왔어요.

On May 22, 2026, Lexis Korea visited Jagalchi Market and BIFF Square in Busan.
Jagalchi Market is famous as the largest seafood market in Korea and is one of the city’s most popular attractions, visited by countless foreign tourists every year. Beyond the market itself, it forms part of a massive commercial district connected to nearby markets such as Chungmu-dong Coastal Market, Gukje Market, and Kkangtong Market, making it easy to explore several markets all in one trip.
This is the entrance to Chungmu-dong Coastal Market, located right next to the streets of Jagalchi Market. Without the sign marking the entrance, you might think it was simply part of Jagalchi Market because the two areas are so seamlessly connected.
A wide variety of seafood is beautifully displayed everywhere. You can find many kinds of fish, snow crabs, king crabs, stingrays, hagfish, spoon worms, and more. In particular, hagfish is a favorite seafood among Busan locals. It may be a little expensive, but if you visit Busan, you should definitely give it a try.
Inside the market, many sashimi restaurants and local eateries are also thriving.
Meanwhile, there are relaxing spaces where visitors can enjoy views of the sea. In the distance, you can see Yeongdo Island, while seagulls fly freely overhead. Isn’t it beautiful? Feel the refreshing ocean breeze and imagine yourself as a mermaid princess.
After exploring Jagalchi Market, we finally headed to the nearby BIFF Square. “BIFF” stands for the Busan International Film Festival. Although the festival is now held annually in Centum City, it originally took place around this area. The name “BIFF” remains today as a reminder of its history.
First-time visitors can easily get confused, so if you visit in September when the BIFF festival takes place, be especially careful!
One of the most famous foods here is ssiat hotteok, or seed-filled hotteok. It is a sweet Korean pancake filled with a variety of edible seeds. However, since it is usually sold at street stalls, card payment is often unavailable. So if you want to try ssiat hotteok, make sure to prepare some Korean cash. One piece costs about 2,000 won.
After exploring BIFF Square, we returned to Lexis Korea.

남산타워는 서울의 중심에 있어서 동서남북으로 서울의 아름다운 풍경을 한눈에 감상할 수 있는 곳이에요. 단순히 풍경만 즐기는 곳이 아니라, 산책로를 따라 가볍게 걷기도 좋고 푸르른 숲속에서 하이킹을 즐기기에도 안성맞춤이랍니다.
오늘은 날씨가 유독 맑고 좋아서 마치 여행을 떠나는 듯한 기분이 들었어요.
남산순환버스를 타고 정류장에 내려 남산타워로 올라가는 길이에요. 제법 경사가 있어서 운동하는 기분이 들기도 했지만, 우리 친구들의 얼굴에는 웃음이 가득했답니다. 싱그러운 나무들과 상쾌한 바람 덕분에 힘든 줄도 모르고 올라갔어요.
남산타워를 배경으로 멋지게 단체 사진을 찍었어요. 그런데 놀랍게도 타워에 도착했을 때 홍대캠퍼스 친구들도 와 있더라고요! 뜻밖의 만남에 다 같이 반갑게 인사를 나누고 사진도 함께 남겼습니다. 정말 반가운 순간이었어요.
미리 준비해 둔 자물쇠도 걸어보았어요. 각자의 이름과 소중한 소원을 꾹꾹 눌러 적은 자물쇠랍니다. 우리 친구들의 소원이 모두 이루어지길 진심으로 바라요. 사랑의 자물쇠 앞에서도 예쁘게 단체 사진을 남겼답니다.
자물쇠를 걸고 내려오니 마침 사물놀이와 전통 무예 공연이 시작되고 있었어요. 한국어 수업을 들을 때처럼 초집중해서 관람하는 친구들의 모습이 어찌나 기특하고 예쁘던지요.

Hello everyone! Today, we took a little trip to Namsan Seoul Tower!
Nestled right in the heart of the city, Namsan Tower is hands down the best spot to get a panoramic view of Seoul. But it’s so much more than just a viewpoint—it’s also the perfect place for a relaxing stroll along the trails or a scenic hike through the lush greenery.
The weather today was absolutely gorgeous, making us feel like we were on a mini-vacation.
We hopped on the Namsan shuttle bus and started heading up to the tower from the bus stop. The climb was a bit of a workout, but it couldn’t wipe the bright smiles off our faces. Thanks to the fresh green trees and the cool breeze, the hike felt effortless.
Of course, we had to snap a group photo with the tower in the background! And guess what? When we got to the top, we crossed paths with our friends from the Hongdae campus! What a happy coincidence. We were all so thrilled to see each other that we just had to take a huge group photo together.
We also got to hang up the love locks we’d been saving for today, each one written with everyone’s names and heartfelt wishes. We are crossing our fingers that all of our wishes come true! And naturally, we couldn’t leave without another sweet photo in front of the famous “Locks of Love.”
On our way back down, we caught the beginning of a traditional Korean performance, complete with Samulnori (Korean percussion music) and martial arts. Seeing the friends completely locked in and fascinated—the exact same look they see during Korean classes—was honestly so heartwarming and made me so proud.
It was such a rewarding day, getting to share the beauty of Seoul with these lovely friends who have so much love for Korea and the language. If you’re looking to take in the best views of Seoul all at once, I highly recommend checking out Namsan Tower this weekend!
먼저 ‘역사의 길’을 따라 걸으며 부산의 중요한 역사들을 보여 주는 바닥의 연도 표식을 함께 살펴보았습니다. 이곳이 과거에는 미군기지였지만, 지금은 시민 누구나 자유롭게 쉬고 즐길 수 있는 공원으로 바뀌었다는 이야기도 나누었습니다.
기억의 기둥과 터널 분수를 지나며 맑은 날씨 속 아름다운 풍경도 감상했습니다. 날씨는 더웠지만 아름다운 자연 풍경 덕분에 계속 기분 좋게 둘러 보았습니다.
한참 걷다 보니 다리가 아파 준비해 간 돗자리를 펴고 앉아 간단한 간식을 먹으며 쉬었습니다. 이후에는 함께 우노(UNO) 게임도 했는데, 학생들 모두 게임 방법을 잘 알고 있어 더욱 즐겁게 참여했습니다. 나라별로 조금씩 다른 규칙들은 서로 이야기하며 맞춰갔습니다.
또 도심 백사장을 둘러보고, 비록 음악분수 운영 시간은 아니었지만 물속의 물고기와 자라를 발견하며 즐거워했습니다. 새가 물고기를 사냥하는 모습도 가까이에서 관찰하고, 물레방아와 돌다리도 직접 체험하며 공원 곳곳을 다양하게 즐길 수 있었습니다.
이번 부산 시민공원 나들이는 부산의 역사와 자연을 함께 느끼고 서로 소통하며 추억을 쌓을 수 있었던 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다. 학생들도 함께 웃고 이야기하며 즐겁게 참여해 더욱 의미 있는 하루가 되었습니다.
Today, we visited Busan Citizens Park, a large and beautiful park in Busan.
As soon as we arrived at the north gate of Busan Citizens Park, we took a group photo in front of the “Busan Citizens Park” sign. After that, we walked along the “History Path” and looked at the years marked on the ground that show important moments in Busan’s history. We also talked about how this place used to be a U.S. military base but has now been transformed into a park where citizens can freely relax and enjoy their time.
As we passed the Pillars of Memory and the tunnel fountain, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery under the clear weather. Although the weather was quite hot, the lovely natural surroundings kept us feeling refreshed and happy throughout the walk.
After walking for a long time, our legs started to hurt a little, so we spread out the mats we had brought and sat down to enjoy some simple snacks and take a short break. Later, we played UNO together. All of the students already knew how to play, which made the game even more enjoyable. Since the rules were slightly different in each country, we talked together and adjusted the rules as we played.
We also visited the Urban Beach area. Although the musical fountain was not operating at the time, we still had fun watching fish and turtles in the water. We even observed birds hunting fish nearby. In addition, we enjoyed various experiences around the park, such as seeing the waterwheel and crossing the stone bridge.
This trip to Busan Citizens Park was a meaningful time for us to experience Busan’s history and nature together, communicate with one another, and create special memories.”The students laughed, talked, and participated happily, making it an even more special and memorable day.
날씨는 그야말로 ‘대박’이었어요. 하늘은 투명하리만치 맑고 공기도 정말 깨끗해서, 남산 전망대에 오르니 서울 시내가 그야말로 한눈에 촤르륵 펼쳐지더라고요. (다만… 날씨가 맑은 만큼 정말 눈물 나게 더워서 아주 살짝 땀방울 좀 흘렸습니다.)
하지만 더위쯤은 싹 잊게 만든 오늘의 하이라이트 사건들!
첫 번째, “어? 너가 왜 거기서 나와…?”
남산으로 가는 버스 안, 우리가 탄 다음 정거장에서 한무리의 외국인들이 탔어요. 관광객이구나 했는데 으앗! 눈에 익은 보라색 렉시스 가방!! ㅎㅎㅎ 세상에! 렉시스 강남 캠퍼스 학생들을 딱 마주친 거 있죠? 서울이 넓다 한들, 남산 가는 버스에서 만나다니 이것이 바로 렉시스 운명공동체인가 봅니다. 반가운 마음에 남산에 도착하자마자 다 함께 찰칵! 기념사진부터 남겼습니다.
두 번째, 미래의 남편을 예언한 자물쇠?!
남산 하면 빼놓을 수 없는 게 바로 ‘사랑의 자물쇠’잖아요? 빼곡하게 걸린 자물쇠들을 구경하는데, 한 학생이 갑자기 소리를 질렀어요. 자기 이름이랑 똑같은 글자가 적힌 자물쇠를 발견한 거예요! 더 대박인 건 그 이름 옆에 낯선 남자의 이름이 나란히 적혀 있었다는 사실. 그 학생 왈, “선생님… 아마 이게 제 미래 남편 이름일지도 몰라요! (진지)” 우리 모두 빵 터져서 한참을 웃었습니다. 남산에서 미래의 배우자 예언(?)을 받고 올 줄이야 누가 알았겠어요?
금강산도 식후경이지만, 남산은 ‘공연 구경’이죠! 신명 나는 사물놀이 공연에 넋을 잃고, 멋진 한국 전통 무예 공연을 보며 스트레스를 날렸습니다. 물론, 불타는 더위를 식혀줄 시원한 주스와 달콤한 아이스크림 충전도 잊지 않았고요.
몸은 조금 더웠지만, 마음만큼은 정말 시원하고 기분 좋은 하루였습니다. 서울의 매력을 제대로 느끼고 싶다면, 여러분도 남산에 꼭 가보세요! (혹시 모르죠, 여러분의 미래 배우자 이름이 적힌 자물쇠를 찾게 될지도요?)
Hello everyone! Today, we went to N Seoul Tower, the iconic landmark of Seoul.
The weather was absolutely incredible! The sky was crystal clear and the air was so fresh that the entire cityscape of Seoul unfolded beautifully right before our eyes from the observatory. (Mind you, because it was so sunny, it was also incredibly hot—we definitely broke a bit of a sweat!)
But we completely forgot about the heat; thanks to today’s highlights!
First, “Wait… what are you doing here?!” On our bus ride to Namsan, a group of foreigners got on at the next stop. We initially just thought they were tourists, but then—bam! A familiar purple Lexis bag caught our eye! What are the odds? We ran right into students from the Lexis Gangnam campus! Out of this massive city of Seoul, meeting them on a bus to Namsan must mean we share some serious Lexis destiny. We were so excited that as soon as we arrived at Namsan, we all gathered together for a group photo!
Second, a padlock that predicted a future husband?! You can’t talk about Namsan without mentioning the famous ‘Love Padlocks,’ right? As we were looking through the densely packed padlocks, one of my students suddenly gasped. She found a padlock with her exact name written on it! What’s even crazier is that a stranger’s male name was written right next to hers. With a perfectly straight face, she said, “Sonsaengnim… maybe this is my future husband’s name!” We all burst into laughter. Who would have thought we’d get a prophecy about a future spouse at Namsan?
They say even the most beautiful scenery is better on a full stomach, but at Namsan, it’s all about the performances! We were totally captivated by the lively Samulnori (traditional percussion quartet) and blew away our stress watching the amazing Korean traditional martial arts show. Of course, we didn’t forget to recharge with some refreshing juice and sweet ice cream to beat the scorching heat.
Our bodies were a bit hot, but our hearts were completely refreshed, making it a truly wonderful day. If you want to experience the true charm of Seoul, you should definitely visit Namsan! (Who knows? You might just find a padlock with your future spouse’s name on it, too!)
어린이날, 어버이날, 스승의 날 등 특별한 날들이 많은 5월은 한국에서 ‘가정의 달’이라고 합니다. 가정의 달 5월을 맞이해서 감사의 마음과 함께 전달하는 카네이션 카드를 만들었습니다.
카네이션의 색깔마다 다른 것을 알고 계셨나요? 빨간색 카네이션은 보통 부모님께 감사와 존경을 표현할 때 드립니다. 어버이날에 맞춰 학생들은 부모님께 드릴 편지를 아주 열심히 쓰고 예쁘게 꾸몄습니다.
편지를 다 쓴 후에 어버이 날의 꽃 ‘카네이션’을 만들었습니다. 종이를 자르고 꽃잎 하나하나 펴 주면 예쁜 카네이션이 완성됩니다. 카네이션을 만드는데 시간이 조금 걸렸지만 좋아하는 K-pop을 들으면서 만드니까 아주 즐거웠습니다.
부모님을 생각하는 마음으로 정성을 쏟아 만든 카네이션 카드가 완성되었습니다! 완성된 카드와 함께 사진을 찍으며 ‘카네이션 만들기’ 액티비티를 마무리했습니다.
May is known as “Family Month” in Korea, as it is filled with many special occasions such as Children’s Day, Parents’ Day, and Teacher’s Day.
To celebrate Family Month, we created carnation cards to deliver our messages of gratitude. Did you know that each color of carnation has a different meaning? Red carnations are usually given to parents to express thankfulness and respect.
In time for Parents’ Day, the students worked very hard on writing and decorating letters for their parents. After finishing the letters, they made the signature flower of Parents’ Day: the carnation. By cutting the paper and opening up each individual petal, a beautiful carnation is formed.
It took a bit of time to make them, but the process was very enjoyable since we listened to our favorite K-pop while working. The carnation cards, crafted with sincerity and thoughts of our parents, are now complete! We wrapped up the “Making Carnations” activity by taking photos with the finished cards.

1교시에는 다양한 채용 플랫폼을 활용해 현재 베이커리 업계의 구인 현황을 세밀하게 분석했습니다. 외국인을 고용하고 싶다는 베이커리를 찾기는 어려웠지만, 한국 취업 시장의 흐름을 파악할 수 있었어요. 한편, 취업 공고가 난 베이커리에 직접 전화를 걸어 취업 방법을 물어보기도 했습니다. (안타깝게도 그 베이커리에서는 외국인을 고용할 계획이 없다고 해요. ㅠㅠ)
2교시에는 학생분이 써 온 이력서와 한국식 이력서를 비교하고, 인사 담당자의 마음을 사로잡을 수 있는 자기소개서 작성 전략을 심도 있게 다뤘습니다. 특히 이번 시간의 백미는 ‘면접 10대 필수 질문’을 활용한 시뮬레이션이었는데요. 실제 면접장과 같은 긴장감 속에서도 자신감 넘치는 태도로 답변하시는 모습이 정말 인상적이었습니다.

This week, we had a very meaningful session with a student who boasts an impressive 9 years of experience as a baker. This student had already applied to several bakeries in Korea and even found an employer eager to hire them! However, they hit a roadblock as the recruitment process stalled due to visa issues. This specific challenge allowed us to dive into an even deeper and more practical consulting session.
Session 1: Market Analysis & Direct Outreach We used various recruitment platforms to conduct a detailed analysis of the current hiring trends in the bakery industry. While it wasn’t easy to find bakeries explicitly looking to hire foreign nationals, it was a great opportunity to understand the overall flow of the Korean job market. We even went a step further by calling a bakery with an active job postingto inquire about their hiring policies. (Unfortunately, they shared that they don’t have plans to hire foreign staff at the moment.)
Session 2: Resume Refinement & Mock Interviews We spent time comparing the student’s existing resume with the standard Korean format, focusing on strategies to craft a self-introduction (Cover Letter) that truly captures a hiring manager’s attention. The highlight of the day was our mock interview based on the “Top 10 Essential Interview Questions.” Even in a high-pressure environment similar to a real interview, the student’s confident attitude and professional answers were truly impressive!
