오늘은 한국 전통 탈 만들기 문화체험을 진행했어요.
탈은 한국의 전통 공연인 탈춤과 다양한 민속놀이에서 사용되는 전통문화의 하나입니다. 이번 활동에서는 종이 탈에 한지를 붙이고 직접 꾸미며 한국의 전통문화를 더욱 친근하게 경험해 보는 시간을 가졌습니다.
먼저 종이 탈과 한지, 풀, 그리고 다양한 색의 사인펜을 준비했어요. 완성된 모습을 상상하며 모두 설레는 마음으로 활동을 시작했습니다.
가장 먼저 한지를 손으로 잘게 찢어 종이 탈 위에 하나씩 정성스럽게 붙여 보았어요. 작은 조각들을 차곡차곡 붙이다 보니 평범했던 종이 탈이 점점 멋진 전통 탈의 모습을 갖추기 시작했습니다.
한지를 모두 붙인 뒤에는 사인펜을 이용해 탈을 자유롭게 꾸며 보았어요. 다양한 색으로 얼굴을 색칠하고 무늬를 그려 넣으며 자신만의 개성이 담긴 작품을 만들어 갔습니다.
같은 종이 탈로 시작했지만 완성된 작품은 모두 달랐어요. 알록달록한 색감과 다양한 표정, 독창적인 디자인까지 저마다의 개성이 담긴 멋진 탈이 하나둘 완성되었습니다.
작품을 만드는 동안 서로의 탈을 구경하며 아이디어를 나누고, 완성된 모습을 보며 웃음이 끊이지 않았어요. 활동 내내 즐겁고 활기찬 분위기가 이어졌습니다.
직접 만든 탈을 써 보며 기념사진도 찍었어요. 자신만의 작품을 완성했다는 뿌듯함 덕분에 모두 환한 미소를 지었습니다.
오늘의 문화체험은 한국 전통문화를 창의적인 만들기 활동으로 경험하며 즐거운 추억을 만들 수 있었던 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

KOREAN MASK MAKING – Creating a Traditional Korean Mask

Today, we enjoyed a traditional Korean mask-making activity.
Traditional Korean masks have long been used in mask dances and various folk performances. During today’s activity, we experienced an important part of Korean culture by decorating our own traditional paper masks.
We began by preparing paper masks, hanji (traditional Korean paper), glue, and colorful markers. Everyone was excited to imagine how their finished masks would look.
First, we tore the hanji into small pieces and carefully attached them to the paper masks one by one. As the layers of paper came together, the plain masks gradually began to resemble beautiful traditional Korean masks.
After covering the masks with hanji, we used colorful markers to decorate them freely. Everyone colored the faces, added creative patterns, and expressed their own unique ideas through their designs.
Although everyone started with the same paper mask, every finished piece looked completely different. Each mask reflected its creator’s imagination through colorful designs, expressive faces, and creative details.
Throughout the activity, everyone admired one another’s work, shared ideas, and enjoyed a fun and lively atmosphere.
After completing the masks, we proudly wore them and took photos together. Everyone was happy to show off their unique creations.
Today’s cultural activity allowed us to experience Korean tradition through creativity and hands-on learning. It was a meaningful and enjoyable way to learn more about Korean culture while making something truly our own.
