오늘은 국립국악원에서 사물놀이 문화체험을 진행했어요.
사물놀이는 꽹과리, 징, 장구, 북 네 가지 전통 타악기로 연주하는 한국의 대표적인 전통 공연입니다. 흥겨운 장단과 힘찬 리듬이 어우러져 한국의 신명을 가장 잘 느낄 수 있는 전통문화 중 하나랍니다.
먼저 장구의 이름과 구조를 살펴보고, 장구를 연주하는 기본 자세와 채를 잡는 방법부터 배워 보았어요. 평소 접하기 어려운 한국의 전통 악기를 직접 만져 보는 것만으로도 모두의 얼굴에는 기대감이 가득했습니다.
기본 장단을 하나씩 따라 하며 장구 소리를 익혀 보았어요. 처음에는 오른손과 왼손을 번갈아 치는 것이 조금 헷갈리기도 했지만, 모두 집중하며 리듬을 따라갔습니다.
연습을 계속할수록 장단이 점점 익숙해지기 시작했어요. 처음보다 훨씬 자연스럽게 박자를 맞추며 자신감 있게 연주하는 모습이 무척 인상적이었습니다.
모두 함께 같은 장단을 연주하니 국립국악원 연습실에 힘찬 장구 소리가 울려 퍼졌어요. 리듬에 맞춰 연주하는 동안 웃음도 끊이지 않았고, 신나는 분위기 속에서 사물놀이의 매력을 마음껏 느낄 수 있었습니다.
장단이 점점 맞아가기 시작하자 더욱 즐겁게 연주를 이어 갔어요. 서로 호흡을 맞추며 하나의 리듬을 만들어 가는 시간이 더욱 특별하게 느껴졌습니다.
처음에는 어렵게 느껴졌던 장구 연주였지만, 연습을 거듭할수록 모두 능숙하게 장단을 이어 가는 모습이 정말 멋졌어요. 한국 전통음악의 흥겨움을 직접 몸으로 느낄 수 있는 시간이었습니다.
오늘의 문화체험은 한국의 전통 악기를 직접 연주하며 한국 문화의 신명과 에너지를 경험할 수 있었던 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

SAMULNORI – Korean Traditional Percussion Experience
Hello everyone!
Today, we enjoyed a Samulnori cultural experience at the National Gugak Center.
Samulnori is one of Korea’s most exciting traditional performances, featuring four percussion instruments: the kkwaenggwari (small gong), jing (large gong), janggu (hourglass drum), and buk (barrel drum). Its lively rhythms and energetic sounds beautifully represent the spirit of Korean traditional music.
We began by learning about the janggu, including its structure, how to hold the drumsticks, and the correct playing posture. Everyone was excited to try playing a traditional Korean instrument for the first time.
Next, we practiced the basic rhythms together. At first, keeping the beat and coordinating both hands felt a little confusing, but everyone stayed focused and did their best.
With more practice, the rhythms gradually became familiar. It was wonderful to see everyone’s confidence grow as they played more naturally and comfortably.
As we performed together, the sound of the janggu filled the practice room with lively energy. The exciting rhythms brought smiles to everyone’s faces, making the experience even more enjoyable.
The more we practiced, the better we played together. Creating one rhythm as a group made the activity even more meaningful and fun.
By the end of the session, everyone had improved noticeably. What seemed difficult at first became an exciting and rewarding experience through practice.
