안녕하세요! 오늘은 매월 첫째 주, 한국에서 멋진 커리어를 시작하고 싶은 외국인 학생들을 위한 특별한 시간, ‘잡클럽(Job Club)’이 열렸습니다.
오늘 잡클럽을 찾은 두 명의 학생은 서로 조금 다른 꿈과 배경을 가지고 있었는데요. 한 학생은 고향에서의 소중한 경력을 살려 한국에서도 연속성 있게 관련 분야로 취업하고 싶은 ‘경력직’ 준비생! 그리고 다른 학생은 아직 직장 경험은 없지만, 한국에서 당당히 첫 직장을 갖고 싶다는 반짝이는 꿈을 가진 ‘신입’ 준비생이었어요.
비록 출발점은 달랐지만, 한국 취업을 향한 열정만큼은 누구보다 뜨거웠던 오늘 잡클럽의 알찬 액티비티 현장을 공유합니다.
먼저 한국의 다양한 취업 포털 사이트를 함께 살펴보았습니다. 내가 관심 있는 분야와 직무에서 외국인 채용 기회가 얼마나 있는지, 현재 시장의 흐름은 어떤지 직접 눈으로 확인해 보는 시간을 가졌는데요. 실시간으로 올라온 공고들을 보며 학생들의 눈빛이 진지해졌답니다.
이어서 외국인 학생들에게는 조금 낯설 수 있는 ‘한국식 이력서 및 자기소개서(자소서)’ 작성법을 깊이 있게 다루었습니다. 그리고, 요즘 취업 준비의 대세죠? 자기소개서를 쓸 때 AI를 어떻게 똑똑하게 활용할 수 있는지도 함께 알아봤습니다. 내 경험을 자연스러운 한국어 문장으로 다듬고, 기업이 원하는 인재상에 맞춰 키워드를 추출하는 AI 활용 팁은 학생들에게 정말 큰 도움이 되었답니다.
다음으로는 서류 합격 이후의 관문, ‘면접 대비’ 프로그램이 진행되었습니다. 한국 기업 면접관들이 가장 자주 던지는 필수 질문 리스트를 뽑아 그에 맞는 모범 답변 구조를 분석했는데요. 단순히 질문에 답을 하는 것을 넘어서 면접관들이 왜 그 질문을 하는지에 대해서도 알아봤어요. 특히 고향에서의 경력을 어필하는 법, 단점을 보완해서 대답하는 법, 그리고 경력은 없지만 열정과 잠재력을 보여주는 법을 각자 맞춤형으로 짚어보며 면접에 대한 두려움을 자신감으로 바꾸는 시간이었습니다.
이미 프로페셔널한 경력을 가진 학생도, 이제 막 사회로 첫발을 내딛으려는 학생도, 오늘 잡클럽을 통해 한국 취업이라는 목표에 한 걸음 더 가까워졌기를 바랍니다.

Hello! Today marks the first week of the month, which means it’s time for ‘Job Club‘—a special session dedicated to international students looking to kickstart an exciting career here in Korea.
Today, we were joined by two students with slightly different backgrounds and goals. One was an “experienced”candidate who wanted to build upon his previous career back home and find a related role continuously in Korea. The other was a “newcomer” candidate who didn’t have job experience yet but held a bright dream of landing his very first job in Korea. Although they started from different places, their passion for working in Korea was unmatched. Let us share the highlights of today’s fruitful Job Club session!
First, we explored various job search portals in Korea. It was a great opportunity for the students to check with their own eyes how many foreign hiring openings are available in their fields of interest and to grasp the current market trends. Looking at the real-time job postings, the students’ eyes truly sparked with seriousness.
Next, we took a deep dive into how to write Korean-style resumes and self-introduction letters (Jasoseo), which can be quite unfamiliar to international students. We also covered a trending topic in job prep nowadays: how to utilize AI smartly when writing self-introductions! The tips on using AI to refine personal experiences into natural Korean sentences and extract key words tailored to the company’s ideal talent profile were incredibly helpful to the students.
After that, we moved on to the next major hurdle after the document screening: interview preparation. We selected a list of essential questions most frequently asked by Korean interviewers and analyzed the structure of model answers. Going a step beyond just answering the questions, we also dug into why interviewers ask those specific questions. In particular, it was a valuable time to turn their interview fears into confidence by providing customized feedback—such as how to pitch previous career experience, how to address and overcome weaknesses, and how to showcase passion and potential even without prior work experience.
